The second Northern Region Junior Qualifier, the 2020 A&L Smash Repairs Northern Region Mackay Junior Squash Championships, will be hosted at the Mackay Squash Club / Mackay Leisure Centre on the 15th to 16th February 2020.

The 2020 A&L Smash Repairs Mackay Junior Squash Championships is a premium regional junior tournament with PRIZES/GIFT CARDS.

Players need to compete in this tournament to be eligible for selection on the Northern Region Redbacks team, which will compete in the Queensland regional teams event at the 2020 Queensland Junior Championships (QJC). The Northern Region Redbacks team will be announced at the Cairns Junior Championships presentation in May 2020.

Games may be scheduled for Friday evening for available players. Otherwise players are expected to be available between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday except with prior approval.

The 2019 A&L Smash Repairs Mackay Junior Squash Championships will commence at 8.30am sharp on both days. Players are to be present and checked in with Tournament Control 30 MINUTES before the scheduled time of their match. Game scheduling is an estimate of game times. Please be aware we will be "following on".

The tournament promises to be a fun event for all junior players.

Continuing on from the success in 2018 and 2019, Northern Region will continue to run:
1) Two tiers – an aged championship, alongside a novice graded competition.
This will encourage and inspire new players to the sport and tournaments.
2) Doubles team nominations & matches for Aged Championship Players only.

ENTRY FEES:
Aged Championship Entry Fee - 1 Event $45, 2 Events $60
Doubles (for Aged Championship Players only) - $10
Novice/Graded (Player's eligibility will be determined by the Tournament Director) - $15 Affiliated, $30 Unaffiliated
Minimum of 3 matches.
PAYMENT IN CASH ON THE FIRST DAY OF COMPETITION PRIOR TO PLAYING, AT CHECKIN.

EYEWARE
Protective Eyewear, (Regulation 13 - Protective Eyewear Policy, Squash Australia).
"Any Australian player who satisfies the Squash Australia age eligibility for 19 years and all younger age groups is required to wear eyewear when playing in domestic or international tournaments or competitions"
Doubles: "Protective eyewear must be worn by all players (junior or senior) when playing in doubles competition / tournaments"

MOUTH GUARD - Must be worn by all u13 players during the doubles.

FOOD POLICY
Please note that the Mackay Leisure Centre has a strict policy regarding the bringing in of food to the facility. No food or drinks are to brought into the facility except drinking water. There is a cafe available for purchase of food and drinks at the Mackay Leisure Centre, of which they have have some gluten free products available.
